I am experiencing the same thing when trying to use the x86 emulator with: Mac OS X El Capitan Appcelerator Studio 4.7.1.201609100950 CLI 5.5.1 SDK 5.1.0 GA Android SDK tools 25.2.2 Android SDK platform tools 25 The ARM emulator appears to be recognized successfully, but it is painfully slow to startup and install the app (which google tells you at startup of the emulator) My problems started when I let Android upgrade its SDK libraries. It appears there is a new x86 emulator now.

My issue appears to be with Titanium SDK 5.1.0 not recognizing the newer x86 Android emulator. Perhaps this is resolved in a newer version of the SDK, however I am not prepared to make that upgrade at the moment. I was able to change emulator.js and avd.js in the SDK to handle the emulator better to meet my own needs for now.

Fixed with the latest Ti SDK and Studio version. Thanks!
