HTC Desire, Android 2.2 Titanium Mobile 1.7.0, 220b325b Photo never appears in my gallery. I waited for a while, knowing that the asynchronous media scanning service is being used, but to no avail.
Confirmed as long as I don't use overlay (see HTC-specific ticket TIMOB-3899) Titanium Mobile 1.7.0, 89ba1a4b9f45 HTC Desire, Android 2.2
