It appears that the users appicon.png is not being respected if it exists in the Resources folder or Resources/android folder.

The support issue turned out to be a developer bug (namely that manual changes in tiapp.xml can get overwritten by Developer). Is the bug still valid?
We may want to reopen it in Developer, so it would be invalid here I guess. Your call.
