Description

http://android-developers.blogspot.sg/2015/06/an-update-on-eclipse-android-developer.html "To that end and to focus all of our efforts on making Android Studio better and faster, we are ending development and official support for the Android Developer Tools (ADT) in Eclipse at the end of the year. This specifically includes the Eclipse ADT plugin and Android Ant build system."

Does this also include changing from using Eclipse to Android Studio for development as well?

Thinking out loud: Appcelerator Studio could probably get the Gradle plugin if needed.

I think the best step first is to migrate the Android Titanium Mobile (https://github.com/appcelerator/titanium_mobile/tree/master/android) from Eclipse Project into a Gradle Project in Android Studio (or IntelliJ) http://tools.android.com/tech-docs/new-build-system/migrating-from-eclipse-projects. ([~hpham] were you investigating this move to IntelliJ?) Once that is done and we can build using Android Studio, we can focus on changing our build scripts to use Gradle.
